Hi! I'm so thankful that you're wanting to get to know me. As stated on my About page I have been a photographer with my husband for 20+ years. It was his passion that he shared with me.
Getting Started
In the midst of running our horse ranch in Tucson Arizona in 1997, my husband, Mike, picked up some events for us to start our own photography gigs with pet stores. Our first digital camara was a Sony Mavica that used 3.5" floppy disks for the film. The resolution of the photos was only 640x480px, but customers didn't seem to mind, especially when they received a 5x7 portrait done within 15 minutes on first Epson inkjet printer. (I still use Epson to this day!) This is also where I started learning Adobe Photoshop 4 with removing hands, collars and leashes. Adobe is now at version 25!
Our Story
We met in Oklahoma City at church. We had lots in common, but when he said he had horses, I was hooked! We started traveling with his horse, Sexy Lexy and the palomino filly that he had purchased for me at a horse auction, Punchs Gold Penny. We traveled to Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming and then ended back in Texas.
During that time, we would buy and sell horses, offer boarding services and training. It was quite the life! But one that was taking its toll on us both. In 2001, we found out Mike had a condition that he was born with but that we would have to deal with for the rest of our lives and it was advised that we give up the ranching way of life. Which that was fine, because Mike had already started expanding our skills of photography and in 2004 we officially started offering Santa Claus photos at Branson Landing in Branson, MO.
We've had many great experiences and have enjoyed our moments together. We took up golf as a hobby and when we weren't in a busy season, you would see us on the golf course.
We're not Finished!
When we found this lakefront property in Avon Park in January 2022, we knew that it was truly a gift and blessing from God! We knew he would allow for us to share our home, the gorgeous view and be able to fellowship with others.
Our plans were waylaid a bit, but I'm back on track with what God had planned. I am available to share this scenery and create memorable portraits for your family to cherish. And in doing so, we will cherish the friendships that bloom.
I'll be setting up for Valentines Minis on Saturday Feb 3rd. Please click the button below to be first in line for the best time slots and discounts!
